表現の使い方
確認の種類別表現
確認メールは確認の対象によって表現が変わります。受領確認、内容確認、理解確認の3種類を分けて覚えると使いやすくなります。
- 受領確認：Could you confirm whether the file was received?
- 内容・前提確認：Just to confirm, ___
- 自分の理解確認：I want to make sure that ___ / Please let me know if my understanding is correct.
- 認識合わせ：I want to make sure we're on the same page.
make sureとconfirmの使い分け
make sure は「確実にする」という自分側の意図を示す言い回しで、I want to make sure ___ のように自分の認識確認に使います。confirm は「確認してもらう」という相手への依頼に向いています。Could you confirm ___ は相手への行動依頼、Just to confirm は自分の理解の確認として使い分けると自然です。
